Here’s what you can expect from a typical service at Gospel Life.
Sunday Mornings begin with prayer and fellowship. Most people arrive between 9:30 and 10am. Children are checked into the nursery and some folks gather around coffee.
The service starts at 10am. It begins with announcements followed by songs, prayers, scripture readings, and an offering. After this we hear an expositional sermon from the scriptures. These messages are designed to teach the scriptures and also make relevant application to real life situations. Our pastor’s goal is to help others see the practical relevance of theology. Pastor Mike loves to point out that “theology drives our practice.”
After the worship service we enjoy one another’s company around coffee and snacks. We then go to our adult Sunday school at 11:30am. Sunday school lasts about 30-40 minutes. It is discussion-oriented and covers a wide variety of topics from Bible, Theology, Church History, and Christian Living. Children have Sunday School during this time as well.
Sunday Evening Service:
We meet again at 6pm for our evening service. This service is casual and family integrated. The evening service is our main corporate prayer time. We often have a short devotional, give testimonies and prayer requests. Then, we spend the bulk of our time praying over the needs of our friends, acquaintances, and community. We also take time to pray over matters pertaining to world missions and the advance of the Gospel, as well as over the message from the morning sermon. Afterward we spend time in fellowship and social discussion that typically leads to members eating together at one of Keyser’s local restaurants.
